Happy Holidays!

Saying Happy Holidays is basically an all inclusive way to say "I want to say Merry Christmas but I don't know how Jewish you are."

You gotta be aware of things like that because if not, people are going to fucking crush you in the disparity of what's become now known as the politically correct universe. Don't tread on toes, walking on eggshells, yadda yadda. I am a man that likes to hatch chickens specifically to break their fucking eggshells. 

Now when it comes to the holidays, it's a super special time for me. Not for any religious hocus pocus but because for some reason, this particular season compels people to not actually be a jackass. For one time out of the year I get to bask in the kindness of other people that I don't normally get to see. Is this wrong? Why are we not like this all the time? Who knows, I suppose I will take what I can get. 

I've had a lot of inner discussion with myself on my favorite holiday and I think I have settled around this time of year. Just because I love so much the idea of coldness being counteracted with warmth, love, cookies, and gifts to each other. Of course, when I look at the state of the world, the American politics going on at the moment, the politically correct universe getting mad at others for not being politically correct, Fox new's lovely `'War on Christmas' segment they love to basically be asshats to everyone else for, then I suppose my enjoyment gets dampened a little bit. Regardless of all of that, I find something special in this holiday. 

To me, Halloween has become fatigued by Snickers and Spiderman, Valentines Day is more about chocolate than love, and Thanksgiving has been gluttonized (not that I don't appreciate a large plate of buttery mashed potatoes). I suppose that's why they've all fallen out of fervor with me. My winter holidays make me remember so many good times and memories, make me want to snuggle up with a loved one, play Skyrim, and drink cocoa while telling stories. No other holiday makes me feel like that so I thought it was super important to release a blog about this today. 

So for all of those reading this, I wish you a lovely merry Christmas, or holiday or whatever you would like to celebrate, and I would like to leave you with a reminder that every day out of the year is a day to be like we are today, and this season. Holiday cheer can just become cheer, and giving gifts doesn't have to be a once a year thing. Let's not make this holiday about religion, which bars others from participating, let's not make this about getting, which just incites less giving away of things, let's make this about helping this whole god damn human race feel like we have a family in each other. You may be missing a lot of things in life, there may be a lot for you to handle at the moment, but every beautiful living human being is worth the cheer here, today and every day. 

I would like to shout out a few people that have been really important to me this season, and out of season. Sarah S., here and up front.. the only things that last are the things worth lasting and clearly our friendship has found a way to endure. I have a very large amount of love for you and you know I try and show it to you when I can. In the spirit of today, let me just say that I love you, and wish you a very merry holidays on your trip. The Jacobson's, the family that took me in. I wish I could say everything that I feel towards you all, but the best I can do is thank you. Thank you for everything, without you, I would not be here. The folks at GC, the coworkers at Abercrombie, the guys at Gamestop, the man Bradley - talking about enduring - these are the people that are in my life actively and the ones that mean the most to me. Don't worry if you're not in here, I have a very huge amount of love left for everyone else as well, love me or hate me back. 

Either way, I'm just here to say Merry Christmas.
